HOW TO SHRINK AND EMAIL PHOTOS WITH XP

If you have a dial-up connection as I do, you will appreciate this tip of shrinking your digital photos before you send them in email. I've received files so huge, that it literally takes about an hour to download.

Windows XP has made it easy for you to shrink your photos and email them directly from your "My Pictures" folder.

  • In My Pictures folder, open a folder containing the pictures you want to send.
  • Select the photos you want to email. If you hold down the Ctrl key, you can click to select additional photos.

  • In the File and Folder Task pane on the left, click E-mail this file.

  • The Send Pictures via E-Mail dialog box opens. The Make all my pictures smaller option is selected OR you can change it to Keep Original Size.
  • If you desire to choose the size of your photos, click Show more options.

  • Make your selection from the list. Click OK.

Windows Xp switches to your e-mail program, creates a new message, and attaches your pictures to the email message.
